MARKETING CONCEPTS : Students Win National Business Competitions

MILWAUKEE, June 29 — The Milwaukee School of Engineering issued the following news release:

MSOE students certainly know how to mind their business! Eighteen students recently traveled to Anaheim, California to compete at the Future Business Leaders of America/Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA/PBL) National Leadership Conference. The students, all members of MSOE’s PBL chapter, came home with 23 awards–including nine first place finishes! Competitive events included both written examinations and judged demonstrations in business and information technology subjects. More than 2,000 students from 30 states competed at the conference, which was for students who advanced from their regional competitions. (See MSOE’s regional results.)

At the chapter level, MSOE PBL received the Chapter Gold Seal Recognition from Wisconsin FBLA/PBL leadership. They also achieved national Diamond Chapter status for their efforts to increase chapter membership, especially among underclassmen; participation in regional competitive events; contribution to community service and education; and more. Only 18 universities nationwide received this designation, which requires significant effort above and beyond the normal PBL activities.

Congratulations to the students on their success:
